Adult Fun League
Rules And Info Philosophy and Vision of the Coed LeagueThe purpose of the Coed “Fun” League is to provide an opportunity for everyone to play recreational soccer in a fun environment. This NON-COMPETITIVE league is geared toward increasing camaraderie between adult league players, spectators, parents of youth, league officials and the like. Anyone with a laid-back approach to the game is welcome. Play must be sportsmanlike! Aggressive play WILL NOT be tolerated! No experience is necessary! Beginner players are encouraged to play and it is hoped that these new players will enjoy the game of soccer! Coed Rules
– There are no linesmen and thus it is difficult to call offside – The Coed field is small and offside would slow down the game – The offside rule may be confusing to many beginner players.) However, blatant cherry-picking will be called.
COED teams may substitute an unlimited number of players at any time during the game from the center-field line. (sub on the fly) A player must come off of the field before another may enter. Specific Coed RulesBecause the COED league is intended to be a forum for “just for fun” soccer, other rules have been modified to enhance the “FUN” nature of the game. If a team is short a female player, then the team MUST also play a male short as well. The game is not defaulted, but this penalizes the team for being a female short. A team must field a minimum of five players in order for the game to be played. Slide tackles are not allowed in Coed. UNSPORTSMANLIKE BEHAVIOR WILL NOT BE TOLERATED IN THE COED LEAGUE. Players will be suspended if the behavior is determined to be overly aggressive or unsportsmanlike. Keeper Rules:The keeper MAY NOT punt, drop kick, or throw the ball across the mid-field line. Goal kicks, punts, and throws must be touched by a player or the field prior to crossing mid-field. PENALTY: Indirect free kick by opposing team.
Guest Players:Coed league is similar to “pick-up” games in that all players are welcome to play as much or as little as they want, provided they behave in a sportsmanlike manner and are not aggressive. No team should have to forfeit a match due to lack of players. If a team is short players, then they should be able to “pick up” guest players. Coed teams may use guest players from another Coed team, provided the following rules apply:
ConductCoaches assume responsibility regarding team leadership. CSC expects each of its coaches to set a positive example for their players in promoting good sportsmanship and self-control. Coaches must be present at each match. If unable to make a match, the secondary contact listed for the team serves as coach in their absence. Sideline control: Coaches are responsible for the behavior of his/her sidelines. Coaches are also responsible for their team’s spectators. Remember, the referee has the power to eject any spectator at any time. A history of disciplinary infractions by one team can be grounds for the team, coach, and/or player(s) dismissal from the league. Such decisions will not be made lightly and will only be decided after careful review by the CSC Adult League Adjudication Committee. Again, the purpose of our COED league is for everyone to play soccer and have fun! There are players who are new to soccer and we hope to encourage them to continue playing. |
